M. Antoinette Russell

A trailblazer of the financial services industry Antoinette is well known for her focused and involved contributions to the growth and sustainability of the sector together with other like-minded professionals as a part of various working groups ensuring that The Bahamas demonstrates its resilience to the changing environment. Antoinette is also well known for assisting and mentoring young persons who desire to enter the field of Financial Services.

Antoinette Russell is the Founder and CEO of Maran Global Solutions. She is a highly acclaimed career trust administration and corporate management specialist with more than 30 years in the financial services industry of The Bahamas, most of it in senior management roles. She most recently served as the Managing Director of Credit Suisse Trust Limited.

She has served on the board of directors of the Association of International Banks & Trust Companies (“AIBT”), the Bahamas Financial Services Board (“BFSB”) and the Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers (“BACO”). She has collaborated closely with successive governments of The Bahamas in the development and promotion of new legislative products for the sector. In her role as a director and former Chairperson of AIBT, Antoinette played a major role in developing The Nassau Conference into a world-renowned event and she was instrumental in helping to launch the Financial Services Bootcamp, offering an invaluable practical workshop for entry to mid-management professionals in the industry.

During her tenure as AIBT Chairperson, Antoinette was a leading player in introducing a Regulatory Forum to provide an interactive platform for industry updates and for high-level dialogue between regulators and the private sector.

As Chairman of the BFSB, Antoinette has been intricately involved in discussions on the various international initiatives impacting The Bahamas financial services sector, including concerns raised by the European Union. This role has included reviewing the jurisdiction’s international obligations, facilitating the consultative process and addressing issues of jurisdictional branding. Antoinette is the recipient of the prestigious 2013 Ministers’ Award for Financial Services as well as the coveted 2014 Cheryl Bazard Founding President’s Award for outstanding performance and contribution to the growth and development of the financial services industry in The Bahamas by BACO.

Antoinette is an alumna of the University of Miami (MBA), a Fellow of the International Compliance Association (FICA), a member of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (TEP) and the Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers, a member of International Tax Planning Association (ITPA) and a Chartered Director and member of Caribbean Governance Institute. She is a member and Director of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC). In the civic sphere, Antoinette is making a vital contribution through her dedicated service as a member of the board of directors of the Bahamas AIDS Foundation and an active member of St. Christopher’s Church. She is a member of the Rotary Club of South Ocean where she serves on the Literacy Committee. In her spare time she like to play golf.
